 It has variegated cream and green leaves, which when they first emerge are flushed in pinky red, so overall the effect is very colourful. A handsome evergreen, it makes a fine stand-alone specimen and as it responds well to pruning, it also works wonderfully well as an informal hedge.

Give photinias a warm, sheltered spot, in sun or partial shade. They like fertile, well-drained soil that doesn’t get waterlogged or become very dry. Some species need neutral or acid soil.

Makes fantastic hedging plants for screening windbreak and also go for wild life as the little birds love to hide and nest in the evergreen foliage
