One of the smaller flowering cherries ‘Kiku-Shidare-Zakura’ can provide an excellent feature in a garden while remaining a compact size. The young lightly bronze leaves,  provide a distinct contrast to the vivid rich pink double flowers in late spring. As a flowering tree it provides an excellent source for pollinators. Due to its size and nature it is also a low maintenance option for a specimen tree in the garden. It is hardy so it can also tolerate some exposure or be in a sheltered location, preferably in full sun.
