Hornbeam Bare Root Hedging — Trade Pack x1000

Start a thriving native hedgeline from scratch with Hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) bare root whips at 40–60 cm. This smaller whip grade offers the best value entry point for large-scale planting schemes, establishing quickly and vigorously across a wide range of UK soils — including heavy clay and exposed sites where other species struggle.

Hornbeam is semi-evergreen, holding its buff-brown dead leaves through winter to deliver year-round screening and wind protection. Come spring, fresh pleated green foliage gives a clean, structured appearance suited to formal estate, residential, and commercial hedging projects.

Why Trade Buyers Choose Hornbeam

• Native UK species — robust, reliable, and wildlife-friendly
• Retains dead foliage through winter for year-round screening
• Outperforms Beech on heavy clay, wet soils, and exposed sites
• Best-value whip grade for new hedgelines and large-scale schemes
• Fast-establishing bare root stock — plant between November and March
