Prunus lusitanica 2/3 litre pot x 100

Prunus lusitanica Hedging — Bulk Buy x100 Plants

Create a refined, elegant boundary with Prunus lusitanica — the Portuguese Laurel — one of the most versatile and attractive evergreen hedging plants available. Supplied in 2/3 litre pots, these nursery-grown plants offer year-round glossy green foliage and a beautiful display of fragrant white flowers in early summer, making them as ornamental as they are practical.

Why Choose Prunus Lusitanica?

• Stunning glossy foliage — rich, dark green leaves with attractive red stems create a refined, polished look all year round
• Flowering hedge — produces elegant racemes of small white flowers in late spring and early summer, adding seasonal interest
• Evergreen — retains its foliage throughout the year for consistent privacy and screening
• Hardy and adaptable — tolerates a wide range of soils, aspects, and conditions including shade, exposed sites, and coastal gardens
• Slow to moderate growth — easy to maintain and keep at your desired height
• Bulk value — 100 plants supplied, ideal for establishing a long, formal hedge

Planting Guide

Plant 60–80cm apart for a dense, solid hedge. Prunus lusitanica thrives in most well-drained soils in sun or partial shade. It is more tolerant of shade and exposed conditions than many other laurels, making it an excellent all-rounder. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish strong roots.

Maintenance Tips

Trim once or twice a year, ideally in late spring after flowering and again in late summer. Use secateurs rather than shears where possible to avoid cutting through the large leaves. Prunus lusitanica responds well to hard pruning if renovation is ever needed.
